Program Description
TREK Adventures have been created around the ideas of providing a unique experience for teenagers to experience outdoor recreation and educating them about outdoor skills and conservation! We are happy to partner with Missouri State Parks who will help provide support and equipment for TREKs. This program is an excellent opportunity to get your group to explore outdoor recreation outside of Jefferson City while canoeing and primitive camping!
Groups will be taken to a scenic Missouri river where they will canoe for around 20 - 30 miles in 3 days and camp for 2 nights. There is no better way to spend the summer days and evenings than on the river while having fun and learning outdoor skills! Transportation, meals, canoes, paddles, life vests and camping equipment is all provided by JC Park and Missouri State Parks.
Location
The Current River
Where are we camping? The first night we will camp on a gravel bar off of the Current River on National Park Land and on the second night we will camp at Current River State Park.

*As of May 4, 2020 we still plan to have our Trek Adventure Programs. We are closely monitoring CDC, Cole County Health Department and Missouri Health Department guidelines. As new and updated information is released, we will make adjustments to group sizes as needed. Please continue to check this page for information regarding our Trek Adventure trips.
Outdoor Recreation is a wonderful way to recreate during these times and these trips allow teenagers and their family to enjoy open spaces. Staff will ensure the safety of themselves and participants while following all guidelines set forth in conjunction with Covid-19.*
