Fire Fighters I.A.F.F Local 671

IAFF

Jefferson City Firefighters Local 671 was organized on September 16th, 1940. The Local has grown to be a representative and bargaining unit for 69 fire suppression positions. Operating as a voluntary membership organization, which is open to any full time fire suppression employee, we proudly have 100% dues paying membership status.  The mission of JCFF Local 671 is to maintain a harmonious relationship between the City and the Union and provide stewardship to address equitable wages, safety and the overall welfare of our members.  All of the commitments and responsibilities of the Executive Board, which is elected by our and from our organization, requires the same expectations of our members.

Local 671 has a deep tradition of community involvement. Through several events sponsored or supported by the Local annually we are able to provide funding through our Community Action Fund. The funds raised from these events are placed right back into the community that graciously supports us. Additionally, our annual Golf Tournament provides for our scholarship program, which awards scholarships to area high school students with interest in public service careers, the application for this scholarship is available in the guidance office of the local high schools. This tradition of taking care of others also extends significantly into taking care of our own. Our annual Guns N Hoses Hockey game raises funding for organizations such as SafetyNet of Missouri. SafetyNet of Missouri takes care of the spouses and children of our brother’s and sister’s of local law enforcement officers, firefighters, paramedics, EMTs and correction officers in the event of a line of duty fatality. Together we are a family vowing to take care of our own when the time arises.
