Matthew Schofield, Fire Chief

Matt Schofield was selected to serve as Fire Chief in 2014. He is a state-certified Fire Instructor, Inspector, and Investigator. Chief Schofield holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from William Woods University, a Bachelors of Science Degree from the University of Missouri, and an Associates in Fire Science Degree from Ozark Technical College. He serves as a Task  Force Leader for Missouri Task Force 1 with federal Urban Search and Rescue deployments that include: New York City on 9/11, the Columbia Shuttle disaster, multiple hurricanes including Katrina, and the 2013 Colorado flooding. Schofield has also deployed to various state disasters including the Joplin tornado and the Elks Lodge Collapse in Clinton, MO. Chief Schofield has worked as an instructor for FEMA, MU Fire Rescue Training Institute, SPEC rescue international, and in the Nuclear Industry Fire Brigade. He lives with his wife and two sons in Jefferson City and enjoys hunting, climbing, and canoeing.
